The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement recommends that the Verkhovna Rada should adopt as a basis the draft law on amendments to article 240 of the Crime Code of Ukraine re strengthening accountability for illegal mining

The bill (Reg. No. 2855) aims at strengthening criminal accountability for violation of mineral resources conservation and use regulations.

The bill suggests new version of article 240 “Violation of Mineral Resources Conservation and Use Regulations.”

The Committee members upheld the bill, adoption of which, according to them, will promote the rule of law in the use and protection of mineral resources.
